As people of faith, first seek God's guidance in our efforts to prevent war. Pray for our leaders and for the leaders of other countries in the world that they will seek the ways of peace rather than war. Pray for all those who have died in acts of violence, and for those who continue to suffer.

I am terribly disturbed by the action our Congress has taken.  I am more disgusted with the Democrats that went along with the Republicans in their surge toward war with Iraq.  What is the use of having two parties if they both are disuaded by big oil companies to drag our country into WAR?  Please explain that to me and a whole lot of other citizens, if you can.  I have expressed myself over and over again with no satisfaction whatsoever.

What is the hurry?  I don't get it.  If Saddam Huesin has the biolog- ical and chemical means of destruction you can be certain that he will use them if we go over  there and close in on him.  Who is going to be hurt?  Our military forces that are in his area.  You can bet your bottom dollar on that.  If he is as mean as our leaders say he is you can just count on him using everything at his disposal to keep from getting him kicked out.  He certainly has more sense than to allow that to happen!

I'm too old to suffer the consequences of this war, but I have grand kids and great grandkids who aren't.  It is them and all the others of God's children that I am deeply concerned about.  Not only Ameri- cans but Iraqi's as well.  And whatever other nation that decides to get involoved and I wouldn't be too surprised if this might not even be the war that will be the end of civilization.

As an avowed follower of Jesus, the Christ I have to live by his precepts.  He told me in his teaching to love my neighbours and I simply cannot condone killing any of them.  Love not hate is the only path to follow in my humble opinion

It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness!
